The Scoop Foundation for Public Interest Journalism is a not-for-profit charitable trust board established for the purposes of “supporting the publication of trustworthy, relevant, public interest information, freely accessible to all New Zealanders, so that they can participate in democratic processes.” The foundation own’s Scoop Publishing Limited which runs the Scoop websites.

Scoop has been publishing breaking news every day for more than 18 years and is New Zealand’s leading independent news source. Together we have a news model that provides and curates free public access, information from the widest range of participants of any news outlet in New Zealand.

We need ongoing support from Kiwis who believe in the importance of a free media and who value how Scoop empowers people to participate in our democracy.
